Supported by brand advertising and editorial in the national horticultural magazine "Good Fruit & Vegetables," Grevillia Ag staff have been busy working with key horticultural dealers to ensure their staff are aware of the advantages of Biocrystal K over its old technology competitors. Where possible our people have been doing the hard yards - carrying out on-farm calls with dealer staff.
Biocrystal K came out of Grevillia Ag's strategy of providing solutions for agriculture where we have a leading edge technology and expertise. With an experienced research team including renowned bacteriologist Dr. John Reichelt, Grevillia Ag set about coming up with a superior product based on an aqueous (water based) solution formulation that is fully soluble and contains no suspended clays or other products that can block nozzles and screens. BIocrystal K offers trouble free handling, as well as no ugly visual residues on the surface of the produce. In a further development, we have been able to incorporate a unique multi component feeding attractant into the product, thus making things much easier for growers by not having to go to the trouble of buying and adding molasses and calf powder etc as is commonly practiced. This innovation provides an attractant that insect larvae actively source out to feed on, helping the bacterial insecticide to be more efficient.By using better technology, Grevillia Ag has also been able to bring a product to market that has superior shelf life, with data to indicate a potential 5 years life when stored at 25 - 28 degrees C.By delivering the product to market as a liquid in 1L, 5L and 20L packs, Grevillia Ag has met a need from growers for a more user friendly formulation, but also for more suitable packs sizes. So far the most popular pack has been the 20L pack, purchased by both growers who previously had to purchase an unwieldy 50Kg drum , or multiples of a 5Kg pack.As a new Australian source of the Bacillus thuringiensis bacteria, Biocrystal K's active constituent and the product underwent years of rigorous trial work to prove the source was effective, and importantly stood up to comparison against well known and long established standard Bt products.Australian made also means that product delivered into stores will always be as fresh as possible, with the highest activity and bio-assay possible. With Australian farmers always preferring to buy Australian products where a choice is available, we believe that Biocrystal Kurstaki has a strong future in the Australian horticultural market. And not forgetting our dealers who are supporting Biocrystal Kurstaki - thanks for your support. We look forward to a long and profitable association.
